Tim is a highly qualified and experienced Dentist with a Special Interest in Oral Surgery. He is also one of the Managing Partners at Circus Dental.
Tim qualified from the University of Bristol in 2002 and spent the early part of his career acquiring knowledge and skills in the specialty of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in various hospitals in the NHS. After working in New Zealand for a year in 2007, Tim returned to the UK to divide his time between independent dental practice, teaching Oral Surgery at the University of Bristol, and operating as a Dentist with Special Interest (DwSI) in Oral Surgery.
Tim has worked in Bath since 2009 in an implant referral clinic and completed an MSc in Dental Implantology (with distinction) in 2012 at the University of Bristol.
Tim has a personal interest in the surgical aspects of implant dentistry and has established a reputation for treating complex cases requiring multi-unit restorations within a multidisciplinary team. He enjoys treating patients who require hard and soft tissue regeneration for dental implant restorations and is able to apply a range of contemporary techniques, including guided bone and block bone regeneration, sinus grafting procedures, and soft tissue enhancement techniques. Tim welcomes referrals from other implant practitioners and has forged close links with local dentists to support them in offering implant treatments to their own patients. Tim is proud to be at the fore-front of dental practice and dental implantology, with intra oral scanning, 3D smile design and guided surgery all available at Circus Dental.
In addition, Tim provides conscious sedation for any patients at the practice, using a combination of both oral and intravenous sedation, to support people with anxiety about dental treatment. His approach to his work is always to treat the patient like you are treating a member of your family.
Tim has a wealth of teaching experience within dentistry, including clinical supervision and examination of undergraduate dentists at the University of Bristol and leadership of teaching units in the postgraduate MSc in Implantology, also at the University of Bristol. Tim is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and holds a postgraduate certificate in medical education. He also teaches conscious sedation updates with Health Education England to other dental teams in the UK and is a recognised Fellow of the International Team of Implantology, as well as a registered Straumann speaker and mentor. These activities ensure that Tim is a well-informed and reflective practitioner who stays up-to-date to provide the best possible care that his patients deserve.
To strike a balance, Tim loves sport, in particular playing golf, and hopes to pass the passion onto his two lively young children.
