Inside our period Bath property we have invested in the most modern dental equipment to ensure that treatment is as predictable and comfortable as possible.
Following a full consultation your dentist will explain your dental condition and where necessary discuss all of the available options with you. We can create a customised plan to meet with your goals and deliver healthy teeth that look naturally beautiful.
Circus Dental has been looking after the oral health of Bath families since 1886. We believe in a focus on prevention and keeping teeth healthy for life. When treatment is required we listen to your goals and create a customised plan to bring you back to health utilising the most modern techniques and best materials. Supported by our specialist team for more complex situations we can deliver a full range of treatments to preserve or enhance your smile.
Our experts in restorative and cosmetic dentistry are trained to manage even the most damaged teeth. We aim to restore the appearance and, with equal importance, the function of your teeth. We will help you find the best solution and work with you to restore you to health. We pride ourselves on achieving natural aesthetics meaning that your artificial teeth blend seamlessly with the surrounding natural teeth.
We are firm believers that restorative dentistry should strengthen teeth and improve appearance. With this concept at the forefront of our decision making process we perform all procedures utilising minimal invasive techniques meaning that the strength of the natural tooth is preserved and enhanced.
When teeth are severely damaged we have the skills and experience to offer advanced restorative solutions to give the tooth another chance and can also offer a full range of replacement options when required.
Tooth wear is an increasingly common problem that is often caused by tooth-to-tooth grinding and/or acid erosion. Our aim is to catch tooth wear early enough to allow simple steps to be taken to prevent further progression and reduce the need for any active dental treatment. We use the most modern digital scanners to allow us to track wear over the long term so that we know if the process is still active.
When the tooth wear is already more severe then we love to help you rebuild your smile. We are extremely experienced in treating this condition and have developed clear protocols to make treatment as swift and predictable as possible. The goal of treatment will be to protect your teeth from further wear and, of course, make them look better at the same time.
Historically treatment would have involved drilling away more tooth structure to place crowns on the teeth. This rarely seems logical to us at Circus Dental as the aim of treatment is to prevent further damage to your teeth. We therefore tend to use modern bonding techniques to ADD tooth coloured material to your teeth without the need for further damage to tooth structure.

Dental Implants have become a popular treatment for filling gaps caused by missing teeth. Implants can be used to replace a single tooth, multiple teeth or even all of your teeth. An implant is a small titanium post that is placed under the gum and replaces the root of the missing tooth. This is then used to hold a crown that looks like a tooth or a set of teeth.
Our experienced implant team are able to deal with all eventualities from a solution for a simple single missing tooth to a full arch of missing teeth. Although this is not always required, our team are well experienced in grafting procedures to help replace bone and gum to improve the long term success and appearance of the implants.
We are pleased to accept referrals for complex situation and even for failing implants and repeat treatment when the desired outcome has not been achieved.
More information about dental implants can be found at the Association of Dental Implantology.
Root canal treatment is required when a tooth is severely damaged and the pulp (nerve) is irritated. Our specialists in endodontics have trained extensively in this area and are able to manage all situations from the simple to the most complex scenarios.
This procedure is used to clean, disinfect and seal the inside of the root and prevent the need for tooth removal. The tooth can then be restored based upon how much of the tooth remains. Our pragmatic approach means that we take every step to minimise further damage to tooth. We work utilising microscopes to enable us to visualise the tiniest detail of the tooth meaning that we can preserve more of the healthy tooth structure and give the tooth the best possible chance of long-term survival.

The gums and the supporting bone are the foundations for the teeth. Gum disease is a common condition that can damage the foundations and make your teeth loose and even fall out. Our general dentists, dental hygienist and gum specialist (Periodontist) are on hand to help you stabilise your gum health.
Specialist gum treatment can also include procedures to expose more tooth structure when a tooth is otherwise too weak to save and also to regenerate lost gum volume to improve appearance around teeth and dental implants.
For more information about periodontics visit the British Society of Periodontology.
Our team of specialists and experienced clinicians in Oral Surgery teach to both undergraduates and postgraduates to ensure that they are providing the best possible care and most up to date treatments for their patients, including 3D bone scanning and intravenous sedation. We take referrals for straightforward, orthodontic and complex extractions, wisdom teeth, apicectomies, coronectomies, extraction of retained roots and impacted teeth.
More information about oral surgery procedures can be found at the British Association of Oral Surgeons.
Our dental hygienist performs treatment aimed at maintaining the health of gums and teeth over the long term. This essential part of oral care will include a focused strategy to reduce your risk of developing dental issues. Did you know that most oral disease, such as decay and gum disease, are preventable with the correct home care. Gum disease has also been linked to other general health issues- another reason to keep those teeth and gums healthy. Our hygienist will help to maintain health for the long term.
