Oliver Bailey will lead our discussion on the management of deep caries. We will concentrate on how to manage the critical areas of the deep restoration margin and the interface with the pulp.......and should the pulp become exposed we will have our endodontists on board to discuss how to manage this situation systematically and as stress free as possible!

    Ollie qualified from Newcastle University with honours in 2005, winning numerous awards pertaining to clinical and academic dentistry. He worked in general practice for 13 years, training extensively in restorative and implant dentistry, before moving to Newcastle University where he is currently teaching and undertaking research into the costs and benefits of the alternatives to amalgam.

    He is lead of the undergraduate crown and bridge course and the final year restorative clinic and is the Deputy Degree Programme Director of the implant diploma. Ollie has also been heavily involved in postgraduate education external to the University for a number of years, including lecturing at the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle, where he is a graduate, whilst maintaining a small commitment to general practice.

    Ollie is past elected Chairman of North East Private Dentists, a role which he held for five years, before stepping down to the role of vice-chairman when embarking on his new role at Newcastle University.

    Colin's practice is focused on Restorative Dentistry and Implantology. This includes a particular interest in managing tooth wear and providing minimally-invasive aesthetic (cosmetic) dentistry.

    Colin has a Masters in Clinical Dentistry from Kings College, London in fixed and removable prosthodontics and an MSc in Implantology from Bristol University. Additionally, Colin has traveled extensively to learn from the best clinicians in the world including the world-renowned Kois Centre in Seattle. This extensive training enables Colin to provide some of the most contemporary, evidence-based dentistry in his field with a focus on harmonising the longevity and the aesthetics of restorations he provides.

    Like his colleagues, Colin maintains a very active teaching profile. He is a clinical teacher on the Masters Program in Prosthodontics at King's College, London, he is an educator on the Foundation Dentist Scheme in the south-west, teaches for Health Education England and lectures nationally and internationally, particularly in the middle-east, on his beloved subject of tooth wear and prosthodontics.

    Jon is a GDC registered specialist endodontist. He has been taking referrals for any dental work relating to root canal treatment for many years and has a wide experience in this area.

    He has completed a postgraduate diploma in endodontics at The Royal London Hopsital and then subsequently, a Masters in Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics which he passed with Distinction at Kings College, London. He is an active member of the Royal College Surgeons, Edinburgh.

    Jon combines his clinical activity with teaching endodontics. He is involved in training qualified dentists to upskill in endodontics, he has lectured internationally, as far afield as Australia, and is involved in teaching on the Masters program in Endodontics at Kings College, London.

    He has a passion for contemporary, restoratively driven endodontics which involves preserving as much natural tooth as possible during the root canal process to improve longevity. To achieve this all of his treatments are completed under a dental operating microscope and utilising 3D scanning technologies.

    Richard is a GDC registered specialist endodontist and has been receiving endodontic referrals for a number of years both in the UK and previously Ireland, gaining a great deal of experience.

    Qualifying from Trinity College Dublin, he moved to the UK to practice. He completed the Diploma of Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS) from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and then a Masters in Clinical Dentistry in Endodontics from Kings College, London.

    Richard works fulltime in specialist practice but has previously been involved in teaching of the Masters Endodontic and undergraduate programs at Kings College, London.

    Richard’s progressive approach to endodontics ensures treatment is completed in a conservative, restoratively-driven manner so to improve the longevity of the tooth. This is achieved by completing all treatments under a dental operating microscope and making use of 3D scanning technology.
