The
Circus Dental Endodontics Team

The
Circus Dental Endodontics Team

Endodontics at Circus Dental is on a very exciting trajectory. With a new team member adding to the existing expertise, and the development of training facilities for dentists within the practice, we are able to provide more availability and treatments to our patients, and more knowledge and education for all dentists.

Endodontics is the discipline in dentistry involving root canal treatment. It is focused on the internal part of the tooth containing nerve tissue and vessels that can be affected following trauma, fillings, crowns and bridges, decay or pain diagnosis. It is vital in the maintenance of tooth health especially as teeth are lasting longer and as life expectancy increases.

The Endodontic team at Circus Dental consists of Jon Cowie, Luca Moranzoni and Richard Condon. Circus Dental is the only practice to provide 3 GDC registered, UK trained endodontic specialists in the South West area. We have created an incredibly strong team with over 10,000 cases treated between the clinicians, supported by highly trained assistants and state of the art technology.

Jon, having grown up in Cornwall, completed his dental studies in Bristol and after working in general practice for several years then completed his post-graduate endodontic training at King’s College London.

Luca is originally Italian but spent his youth in the south of France before studying dentistry in Cardiff. He worked in the MaxFax departments in Cardiff and Guildford hospitals before going on to complete his post-graduate training at UCL at the Eastman Dental Institute in London.

Richard originally completed a masters in business and law before finding his vocation in dentistry. Richard is from Dublin and worked in Ireland and London for several years in general and endodontic practices. Richard also completed the post-graduate program in endodontics at King’s College London.

Endodontic Patients

The patients that normally come to see our Endo team will often be referred from other general dental practitioners. We have a close working relationship with all the dentists that have sent or wish to send patients to us. We strongly believe in education and a strong partnership with all of our referring dentists. Patients may be seeing our endodontists for a variety of reasons: pain diagnosis, restorative assessment (can the tooth be structurally saved), difficult root canal treatment or surgical root canal treatment. We provide the expertise, equipment, time and care required for routine treatment, through to the most challenging of cases.

Each case is assessed individually and planned with the patient. This happens at a consultation appointment, which includes all the relevant imaging and assessments. Any additional appointments or costs are discussed at the consultation appointment prior to deciding on the best treatment option.

Root canal treatment can be a scary prospect. We have invested heavily in our training, equipment, technology and environment to ensure that any procedure can be carried out without pain or stress and with an optimal end result for the patient.

Patients can directly contact us via email at info@circusdental.com or phone us on 01225426163. Your dentist can refer you via our secure online portal.

Endodontic Teaching

Our Endodontic team takes great pride in providing cutting edge training of endodontics to dentists around the world. Jon, Luca and Richard lecture to undergraduate, post-graduate and fully qualified dentists. They have trained over 1000 dentists with their bespoke courses which teach modern, restorative endodontics, providing dentists with the knowledge and ability to save teeth in a more predictable manner. They have been involved in scientific research publications such as Restoration of Endodontically Treated Teeth and Reduction of an in vitro Intraradicular Multispecies Biofilm Using Two Rotary Instrumentation Sequences. They also play a big part in the development of the latest endodontic technology such as reciprocating file systems and the Waveone Gold Glider by working closely with dental manufacturers to help test and trial new equipment before its launch in the UK.

We are always excited about endodontics, but now we can’t wait for this coming chapter and the benefits that this will bring to the patients and referring practitioners. We are looking forward to showcasing these benefits to everyone.
