Top of our list has always been to refurbish one of our existing treatment rooms and we had a chance during the first lockdown of 2020 in March to make that happen.
This room will now be dedicated to specialist root canal treatment and has been equipped to handle the most complex cases.
Creating this specialised treatment room provides a dedicated space for our Specialists in Endodontics to be able to see patients for a variety of treatments. It also reduces the demand on our other treatment rooms, reducing patient waiting times and increasing our capacity throughout the whole practice. We are fortunate to have two and soon to be three monospecialists in Endodontics here at the practice; these are dentists that are solely dedicated to this complex treatment day in day out.
The room has been designed with a minimal feel to create a sense of space. It really helps utilise our exceptional dental assistants in what we call four-handed dentistry to optimise your appointment efficiency.
Our Zeiss dental microscope allows our endodontists to perform root canal treatment to the highest possible standards. We know that every small piece of tooth that can be preserved leads to a better long-term outcome. This simply isn't possible without this level of attention to detail and the operating microscope. This is what Dave Brailsford, former head of British Cycling describes as marginal gains and this is a concept our root canal specialists immerse themselves in.
